Zoe Biller, concert pianist and composer celebrates her multi-national career. Born and raised in Odessa, Ukraine, she received her bachelor and masters degree in the Republic of Moldova. Zoe’s studies focused on composition, music form, solfedge, harmony, polyphony, music history and piano performance. She immigrated to the United States in 1993 and continued her music career mostly as a music instructor at Montessori schools as well as offering private piano lessons. She lived in Chicagoland for 18 years and recently moved to Milwaukee.
Today she is a freelance performer who expresses her music with joy of “NOW”. Her music is filled with sincerity and optimism. Her programs include Classical, Jazz and pop music bound together by a particular theme. She also performs her own music. These unique compositions are dynamic, based on classical forms with infusions of Slavic and Moldavian melodies. She moves beyond premise of classical and folk music by changing time signatures and juxtaposing distant tonalities in a natural way of speaking while bringing a sophisticated palette of colors and feelings. She sees her compositions as vibrant not having to be reliant on the tradition of a single time signature.
